What Can You Do?
Helping with the environment can be very simple, all you need to do is put forth an effort. Before you're able to properly discard of your trash, you should first figure out if the garbage classifies as compost, trash, or recyclable material. Compost is defined as any organic matter (leaves, fruit, vegetables, etc.) that can be used to improve soil structure and provide nutrients. Recyclable items include: cans, glass, plastic bags, plastic bottles and tubs #1-7 paper and paper products, scrap metal, cardboard, and textiles. All of these items can easily be placed in a recycling bin, or taking to a recycling center. Finding a recycling bin is pretty easy - often they are right next to trashcans. Trash is identified as Items that are not recyclable these items include: plastic toys, paper with food on it, Styrofoam, metal and a number of other materials. To cut down on the amount of trash that you are producing, you may need to limit the amount of items that they purchase and or use.
